Evil Drops By

Male bluejays discovered my hideaway this morning. I don't know how they found us out, with R. Buddy keeping so quiet and all. In spite of her stealth, my enormous parrot companion was divined, and my batcave exposed, by a pair of bitchy boys determined to make her talk. She watched them as if she had no idea what they were screaming about (smart girl,) but I fear it is time to lift stakes and move along.

Perhaps they got word from some ocean birds keeping a careful eye on our movements along the gulf coast last month. When did the avian/primate bond go sour? Must they tell all?

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you. Be honest and frank anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow. Do good anyway.

I know they both came to see you before you could start dreaming. I know it made you cry. They wanted to show you their curly tail and funny walks and to let you hear their high/creaky voices, but that's all. Why not enjoy that?

Or a blue heron watching from that stinkin river! Now that was a treat, and it showed off all its cool moves and impressive wingspan. These were the days. Maybe the fish there really are poisoned so that the blue herons have developed psychic powers, but they won't tell anyone the things they heard you thinking, because those things were nothing compared to what the other guys had!

I got a papercut. Is that appropriate?
